In today's episode of Some More News, Cody and the gang (including a whacked-out alternative timeline version of Cody) do a deep dive on Brett Kavanaugh, The Federalist Society, and the rich, religious, conservatives who are taking over our courts.
This is MUST WATCH material, and hopefully the basis for future much-needed reform, review, and - if we're lucky enough - recall.
First up, meet the KGB spies who invented "Fake News" (then referred to as "Active Measures") during the final decade of the Soviet Union.
Follow that up with a look at the current state of the New Fascist International(e)'s ongoing multi-pronged worldwide War On Truth.
Now it's time to learn about "Operation Infektion", which explores how Russia came to perfect the art of asymmetrical information warfare, and explores some of the methadologies and philosophies in play.
And, finally, there's this segment on the Seven Commandments of Fake News.
This video series, even though it comes from the mother of all mainstream sources, the New York Times, offers up significant, high quality food for thought and worthwhile information for the few remaining non-co-opted, serious-minded conspiracy researchers and theoreticians out there who continue to fight the good fight, and who try to be honest with their readers, their co-researchers, and most importantly, with themselves.
It isn't easy these days. In fact, the information contained in the four videos above goes a long way towards explaining exactly why it isn't easy these days, what with the so-called "alternative media" landscape being so heavily targeted for co-option, manipulation and takeover by actual criminal, behind-the-scenes power-brokers who have managed to convince the wooliest sheeple on the Animal Farm that they're the only ones who know what's really going on, because instead of believing everything they see on CNN, the Washington Post or the New York Times, they believe everything they hear on InfoWars.com, or from Lou Dobbs, or from whatever full-blown fascist talking head it is that they get their daily supply of talking points.
Anyway, if you're one of the hundred or so people out there still bothering to check out my blog for some reason, please watch these videos and help to spread the word about them. They're quite good.
Particularly when they have Andy Kindler on to engage in some light-hearted mockery of FOX News and all the usual suspects. So, as you all await some fresh, original content from yours truly, please enjoy this Casual Friday edition of the Majority Report alongside yer old pal Jerky!
2. And here's another nifty webcomic, this one an ongoing tumblr titled "The Hairs on the Back of Your Neck", featuring animated gifs derived from spine-chilling single-sentence horror stories. The artwork is exquisite, which is a very frou-frou word, but it happens to fit perfectly in this case. I mean, take a gander at that gorgeous piece of illustration, above!
3. And finally for today, a stunning new music video from one of the century's most important popular artists: "Blackstar", by the one and only David Bowie. The song is apparently going to serve as the theme for an upcoming British crime drama called The Last Panthers (about Eastern bloc jewel thieves), but the video gives precious little indication of that. What it does give us, however, is a vast array of references to everything from the heaviest of heavy-duty Modern masterpieces to the lightest of pop entertainments. In coming days, I'll be attempting to catalog these references right here on the Daily Dirt Diaspora blog. So keep your eyes peeled!
"This lost classic short film of 1990 is a post reunification Nihilist allegory of the tensions between the immigrant worker population of Germany and the natives who still long for Heimat. When foreign bullies cajole a young German man into trying to kick an American football. Hilarity ensues."
My friend Todd Graham made this video, as well as the legendary mash-up video Apocalypse Pooh. To find out what he's working on these days, read this recent profile from Ozy.com.
The Overview Effect is a 20 minute short film that examines the aesthetic and philosophical implications that arise when one gets the chance to peer at one's home planet - in this case, Earth - from an outer space vantage point. Filled with beautiful images and beautiful thoughts spoken by beautiful human beings, The Overview Effect is the very definition of "soul food". Get your daily recommended dose of awe today by making time to give this film your undivided attention.
The next video I want to share with y'all is awesome, but for much different reasons. It's called Sleeve, and it's a retelling via puppets of one of the central stories of Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos cycle of stories, all presented while a rather excellent progressive rock tune by British band Thumpermonkey. As far as I can tell, the song has nothing to do with the visuals being presented, but it rocks out with syncopated, odd time signature-soaked cacaphonic glee, which means it certainly doesn't hurt!

In this video, lifted from The Daily Show, Lewis Black takes Glenn Beck apart so expertly and so absolutely, it wouldn't surprise yer old pal Jerky if it actually played a role in Fox News finally deciding to ditch this blubbering, self-aggrandizing shit-bag hypocrite asshole. So Black probably did the world a public service... and he was damn funny while doing it, to boot. Watch and enjoy!
Just in time for the most pagan of all "Christian" holidays, our old pal Sixlegged (PBUH) regretfully informs us that, yes, it IS possible to make Rebecca Black's execrable Friday song even worse than it already is. According to Sixer: "religious propaganda piggybacking on pop culture is like a quinine and eel asshole casserole." After subjecting himself to the parody in question, yer old pal Jerky would have to concur. But you can go ahead and judge for yourself...
Yer old pal Jerky's brand-spanking new online connection has failed after three weeks of relatively smooth operation. I am posting from a friend's place now. Will attempt to resolve this ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

PS - Watch this excellent short film in the meantime!
That's the title given to this Youtube video of a December 2010 Jamaican TV news report, which has a pretty low view count considering the subject matter and what happens in it. This is interesting on a number of levels:
Okay, so before I write a proper introduction to the Diaspora Blog, I figured I'd better clear away some of the back-log of stories to which I've wanted to call your attention over the last couple years. Some of these are just videos, some are interesting articles, others are just funny wastes of time. This is just the first of what will probably turn out to be a number of house-cleaning posts, so don't worry, I won't be dumping ALL that accumulated crap on your laps at once. Anyhoo, I hope everybody finds at least one or two links per link-alanche to be worth their while. Huzzah! - YOPJ
In 1979, the CBS news magazine program 60 Minutes aired a report about the Swine Flu Scare of 1976 and the massive vaccination program that followed. This episode was allegedly banned after first airing and didn't see the light of day again until 2009 when it was released on the Internet. The implications are chilling and the parallels between what happened 20 years ago and the growing panic over Bird Flu - although currently on the back-burner - are ominous. Forewarned is forearmed.

If you thought the American government was doing something new when its agents started spraying pot crops with paraquat and other toxic chemicals in the 1970's... you'd be mistaken. The Powers That Be have been harshing our collective buzz for a very long time, as this article about certain toxic Prohibition tactics explains.

Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb. It made yer old pal Jerky LOL quite a bit, and hopefully it'll do the same for you. After all, we could all use a larf in these dark and dismal days, couldn't we, guv?
***
And speaking of larfs, finally, at long last, someone has crafted a sexually realistic R&B song... and they were kind enough to put together a hilarious video to go with it!

This is, quite possibly, the best condom commercial ever conceived, produced and released, ever. Hands down. No contest. Also, aside from the fact that it's funny as hell, it managed to give me the chubbs! Not quite as pleasurable as a full-blown erection, but I'll take what I can get at this point.

Doctors are people, too, as this video amply demonstrates. And you know what? It's fucking terrifying. After watching this, you may never shove another can of spray-on hair coloring up your asshole, again!

This incredibly beautiful and transcendently moving video and the staggering implications it conjures moved me to my marrow and, honestly, it just about succeeded in squeezing tears from this cynical old misanthrope's usually bone-dry eyeballs. Let's find out if watching it has a similar effect on you.
