The Spanish Flu of 1918 was so much worse than what we're going through now, in so many different ways, that it's almost enough to make one ashamed of the extremes to which we're all going to avoid being exposed to Covid-19. Note that I say ALMOST! Because I fully understand why we're self-isolating and shutting down mass public events and all that... it's a necessary sacrifice to help (and I loathe to use these freshly coined neologisms, but) "flatten the curve", so that we spread out the number of people who ultimately come down with Covid-19 over a significant enough span of time that the hospitals will be able to give the best possible care to the maximum number of people who show up presenting with symptoms and needing placement in an Intensive Care Unit. But WOW, man, was that Spanish Flu ever one ugly son-of-a-bitch disease. We're talking a full-on medieval shit-show. So anyway... Enjoy the movie!
